June 8

Yesterday, I worked from noon to 8:45. We had multiple rushes of customers, but it wasn't a constant flow. It sure was good to be busy. I ended up selling some a few jackets, filling in at the snack bar, and working behind the patch counter (where we sell watches, belt buckles, knives and- of course- patches. After work, we were rewarded with ice cream (actually soft-serve frozen yogurt) for cleaning up 15 minutes early. I made my own cone, about a foot tall, which no one could replicate without theirs falling over. I guess I just have skills. At night, I realized I didn't have a picture to post for the day. I went for a walk and looked at the clear, black sky- stars everywhere. I couldn't get a picture of them, so I just took one of base camp at a distance.

  1. The stars are one of the things I recall that I marveled at on my trek. On a clear night there were so many more than you can see when around town.

Keep a lookout for far off lightning at night. can be a treat.

  2. Great shot, Aaron. Wish I could see what you see. That is so cool. Thanks for letting us see it all through your eyes.

  3. I can't believe the night sky here. Just amazing. Stars are awesome. I'm waiting for a nice storm for some lightning action.
