I enjoyed my day off. My backcountry truck ride had spectacular views, including one of the Tooth of Time (above) which I climbed earlier this week. After I got back, I played the strategic board game, Risk. It was my first time playing, so I recruited an adviser to give me tips on where to move. I ended up winning the game (after 2.5 hours) and making a bunch of Risk "veterans" unhappy. It was funny.
The first few crews arrive at Philmont tonight. We expect a couple hundred individual campers tomorrow. It'll be a busy day at work.
